Martin Labbé

Martin Labbé joined Desjardins Capital as an investment manager over 10 years ago. He handles analysis and investment advice for the Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Côte-Nord regions.

Before coming to Desjardins, he was an account manager for a major financial institution in the region and a financial controller for one of Coopérative fédérée de Québec’s retail outlets.

Qualifications

Martin has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Université du Québec à Rimouski and a financial planning certificate from the Institute of Canadian Bankers. He has been a member of Quebec’s order of certified professional accountants, Ordre des CPA du Québec, since 1998.

What great business story inspires you?

The story of a fast-growing business in eastern Quebec whose management works closely with financial partners to achieve their vision. The fact that the entrepreneur that started it is willing to ask for advice and then follows it—I find that really inspiring. Today he has a good grasp of the challenges and limitations of debt and is getting ready to leverage his capital and achieve his business goals using a smart financial solution.
